whyso is a website of small everyday tools. This page explains, in plain words, what information whyso keeps about you, why, and how you can remove it.
Who runs whyso
whyso is a small, independently run website. For any question about your information, contact us at contact@whyso.app.
What we collect
- Your email address, so you can sign in with a magic link.
- Your name and profile photo, only if you choose "Continue with Google". Google shares these with whyso when you sign in that way.
- What you save in the tools, such as notes or lists, so they are there when you come back.
- Basic technical records that our service providers keep automatically to run and protect the service, such as sign-in times and IP addresses.
We do not collect anything else, and we never ask for your date of birth, address, phone number or payment details.
Why we use it
Only to sign you in, to show you your own saved data, to keep the service secure, and to reply if you contact us. We do not use your information for advertising, and we never sell it.
Who helps us run whyso
These companies process information on our behalf, only to provide the service:
- Supabase stores accounts and saved tool data.
- Resend delivers sign-in emails.
- Cloudflare hosts the website.
- Google, only when you choose "Continue with Google".
Some of these providers may store data outside your country. They are bound by their own privacy and security commitments.
Cookies and local storage
whyso keeps your sign-in in your browser's local storage, so you stay signed in. This is needed for the site to work. whyso does not use tracking, analytics or advertising cookies, and the website's fonts and code are served from whyso itself, not from other companies.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and saved data until you delete your account. Technical records kept by our providers are deleted on their normal schedules.
Your choices and rights
- Delete everything: after signing in, open the menu under your picture or initial and choose Delete account. Your account and all your saved data are removed permanently.
- See, correct or export your data: email us and we will help.
- Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Age
You must be 16 or older to use whyso. If you believe someone under 16 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Sign-in uses one-time email links or Google, so whyso never stores passwords. The database only lets each person read and change their own data.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change matters for how your information is used, we will also tell you when you next sign in.
